AESQ Reference Manual RM13006 Revised & Published

The AESQ Process Control Methods Subject Matter Interest Group has revised RM13006 Process Control Methods and published it September 7, 2021.

RM13006 was developed to promote the correct application of process control. Aerospace products are such that quality issues can be high profile and cause reputational damage to the producer, customer, and the industry. They also cause disruption to operations. Therefore, specialists from the leading Aerospace companies collaborate to improve the industry’s adoption and application of process control.

This Reference Manual includes both statistical and non-statistical tools for the application of control activities in the factory, and a range of statistical methods for process study of stability and capability leading to process improvement.

It also discusses process control from a principles level to help practitioners apply the techniques in the diverse array of manufacturing processes and environments. Common pitfalls and barriers are also discussed.

AS13100 Deployment Update

One of the first tools developed by AESQ to support the aero engine supply chain is Reference Manual (RM)13009 Compliance Assessment.  This document provides a structure for companies to begin to identify their current compliance to the new AS13100 standard including a 3-part Self-Assessment Checklist that can be used to document both compliance and any gaps that may exist needing addressing.

Prior to conducting the Self-Assessment, it is highly recommended that a company’s Quality Leaders follow the SAE AS13100™ Requirements Training Course (online/ 10 hours) and/or the soon to be released AESQ Quality Foundations Course to ensure a complete understanding of the AS13100 requirements.

In addition, AESQ has developed a Milestone Plan to support AS13100 transition planning.  Please click the button below to review the Milestone Plan and other AS13100 Support Materials.

AESQ also recommends participating in the next Virtual Supplier Forum scheduled for October 6.
